Thanksgiving Dinner for Those In Need 2024

Thank You!

Months of planning and hard work culminated in another successful St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving Dinner for Those in Need. Our parishioners and school families came together to serve our community in a physical manifestation of God’s love. It was an opportunity for our parish to share the blessings God has given us with those less fortunate. Over three hundred volunteers, totaling more than a thousand volunteer hours, made this endeavor possible.

Our confirmation candidates and youth group met Sunday, November 24th, to bake over 90 dozen cookies. Those cookies, along with approximately 400 dozen donated by parishioners, school families and faculty, added up to enough cookies to go out with each meal. On Wednesday, November 27th the junior high and high school girls’ basketball teams from Sacred Heart School bagged cookies and bread to be delivered with each meal. We were blessed this year with an abundance of volunteers to help plan and order the quantities of supplies needed, cook the turkeys and all the trimmings, man two serving lines, deliver meals, organize check-in and pick-up of to go orders, and clean up.

By the end of the morning over 1200 meals were served! Thank you to all who helped make this endeavor a reality.
