National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Thank You!
On Monday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 2nd our parish was blessed to host the St. Junipero Serra route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. Not only did the faithful from our parish partake in the events on both days, but also Catholic faithful from other parishes within the diocese, the state of Missouri, and across the nation. All who attended were moved by the fellowship, testimonies, and the power of being in the Real Presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Within a short 14-hour time period our parish was able to accomplish mighty things for God’s glory: we hosted approximately 300 for a multicultural potluck dinner, Catechetical presentation, Eucharistic procession from Sacred Heart School to St. Patrick Chapel, and a Holy Hour with music; our priests, along with 6 others from within our diocese heard a combined total of approximately 12 hours of confessions; we had almost 60 volunteers who spent an hour with Jesus in Overnight Adoration; we welcomed approximately 200 Catholic faithful at 6:30am Mass, and were joined by approximately 140 faithful in a 2nd Eucharistic procession through downtown Sedalia culminating with benediction at Sacred Heart Chapel. With months of planning, and hundreds of hours of volunteer work, our parish took radical hospitality to the next level, kicking off the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage events for our diocese with joy and love, not only for our brothers and sisters within the Catholic Church, but with joy and love for our God! Thank you to all who played a part in bringing these events to fruition!!
