Meet the Pilgrims

Jesus is on the MOVE!! Meet the perpetual pilgrims walking with Him on the Serra Route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. We invite you to prayer for these pilgrims on their journey to us, and join us to meet them in person on Monday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 2nd.

Jimmy Velasco is a seminarian for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, having just completed his pastoral year. Jimmy is from San Francisco, CA, and is doing his priestly formation at St. Patrick’s Seminary & University in Menlo Park, CA. He applied to be a Perpetual Pilgrim to grow in his relationship with Christ and allow others to experience Jesus’ True Presence in the Eucharist. Jimmy enjoys sports, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. He will be entering his third year of Theology in the Fall at St. Patrick’s Seminary.

Patrick Fayad hails from Omaha, NE and is a recent graduate from Benedictine College with a BA in Psychology and Theology. He is currently working as a Residential Dean and Strength Coach at St. Martin’s Academy in Fort Scott, KS where he enjoys mentoring boys and working on the farm. Patrick is an Eagle Scout and Benedictine Oblate. He is excited to be a Perpetual Pilgrim because it is an opportunity to join his loves of growing in and spreading the faith with his passion for adventure. He is an avid traveler, having spent significant time visiting family across Europe and in Lebanon. Patrick’s hobbies include learning languages, exploring cultures, woodcarving, skiing, cooking, and camping.

Chas Firestone East is a Ph.D. candidate at Columbia University who studies the philosophy and theology of Dante and Aquinas. Chas is a relatively recent convert to Catholicism and is very excited to meet and learn from the many diverse Catholic communities across the United States on the Serra Route while following Christ to Indianapolis. Chas comes from Virginia and has lived and studied in New Jersey, New York, Oxford, Paris, Venice, Naples, and Florence.
