Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

How wonderful we were able to celebrate Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday in person this year! That in itself is a beautiful Resurrection story! Because we know we are sinners and asked the Lord to take our sins to the cross, we are now able to celebrate the Easter Resurrection Story! The gifts shown to us at Easter should amaze us! The most important is the Father raising the Son to new life so we may participate in this new life! Mary Magdalene desired to spend time at the tomb with ointments in prayer and mourning shows us a normal human response. And, she becomes the first to see the Risen Lord. She does not keep this a secret; she runs to tell the others. Jon, who wanted to tell the world in His Gospel that he is a faster runner than Peter arrives at the tomb first; but Peter, always the daring one in word and action goes into the tomb to see it is empty. They tell the others that the Resurrection is true. Mary, Mother of God, sits in quiet meditation and prayer ponders these events and realizes what all of it meant and stays with John to give us the most theologically insightful Gospel in the Bible. We have experienced the Resurrection; we have talents; let us tell the world of the good news by all means possible using all the resources and talents we have to offer. Once again, on behalf of your pastors, Happy Easter! Christ is Risen – truly He is Risen! Alleluia!
