National Grief Awareness Day – August 30 2020
Next Sunday recognizes the time it takes to heal from loss doesn’t have a prescribed course and is a reminder closure comes in many forms. When a loved one dies, the void they leave affects everyone differently. Next Sunday
• Ask yourself who in your life has been affected by loss
• Offer to listen to a friend or ask them to join you for coffee or tea at a park, then set another date for a visit even if it is by facetime or zoom.
• Send a message letting them know they are never far from your mind
• Remind them that self-care is vital after a loss, be sure your friend has good nutrition, meditation or relaxation techniques to help with sleep.
• If you are the one grieving remember it is ok to ask for help if your grief is overwhelming you.
• Call Ann Dove if you do not have a bereavement companion assigned if you would like someone to accompany you on the journey of grieving.
